Harvest Doc Combine

Harvest Doc Combine is an expansion of the earlier yield mapping system, allowing users to gather instantaneous field data. A mass-flow sensor and moisture sensor provide on-the-go yield and moisture readings.
 
This information is recorded to the data card and can then be downloaded into Apex™ Farm Management software. Such data can be viewed in maps and/or reports and used to make more informed management decisions.

Measuring yield and moisture

As the grain flows from the clean-grain elevator to the grain tank, it is propelled against a plate or the mass-flow sensor. As the grain reflects off the plate of the mass-flow sensor, some falls into the moisture sensor sitting directly below.
 
The grain is measured for moisture content and pushed out by the plunger into the grain tank.

Overlap control

Overlap control automatically controls the header width as it enters an area that has already been harvested (for example, point rows and headlands). Overlap control functions like the Swath Control Pro™ feature.
 
By monitoring boundaries and coverage via GPS, it changes the cut width of the header instantaneously as the vehicle passes through the field, so the operator doesn’t have to worry about making manual adjustments. This greatly improves field totals in both the display and desktop software, especially the area and yield values.
 
This feature is available on all Harvest Monitor™/Harvest Doc-compatible John Deere combines, cotton pickers, and self-propelled forage harvesters with a GS3 2630 Display.

Load functionality is an efficient approach to tracking and organizing harvest information. By making use of the flexible design, operators can accurately document how much crop is in each truck, wagon, tank, boll buggy, etc.
 
Loads can be named, numbered, and assigned to a specific load destination to fit each operator’s needs. This information can be monitored in the cab or unloaded into desktop software, like Apex™ Farm Management software, for further record keeping.
 
Plus, for combines, if operators want to solely track tank loads, an intuitive load increment increases the load number automatically based on the unloading auger status. Each time the unloading auger is turned off, the load number increases by one. Therefore, an operator can focus on other harvesting functions.

 How much did that corn variety yield? How many tons of corn silage has been dumped in that pit? How many cotton modules came off that field?
 
The answers to these questions and more are at the operator’s fingertips. A stockpile of information is continuously recorded during harvest operations.
 
By utilizing filters, operators can quickly pinpoint the specific information they want to know, as it relates to totals. As long as recorded data resides on the compact flash card, totals information from season to season can be recalled at any time, during any operation, to continually analyze productivity.
