Import data into Operations Center
Data may be transferred into Operations Center through many methods. These methods range from manual to fully automated and wireless, even accepting data from applications produced by other companies. Simply choose which method is best for the grower’s situation and easily move data into the system, where it is processed and available to share with partners.

Transfer data with Data Sync and JDLink Connect

  • Gen 4 Display Data Sync + JDLink Connect
    • Hardware: 4200 or 4600 CommandCenter™ or 4240 or 4640 Universal Display and Modular Telematics Gateway (MTG), and Ethernet cable
    • Subscriptions/activations: JDLink Connect and Generation 4 Premium or higher
    • Data types: setup, documentation, prescriptions, and machine data
    • Functionality:
      • Setup data may be sent from Operations Center to the display.
      • Documentation data is sent automatically from the display to Operations Center.
      • Machine Data is automatically sent from machine to JDLink Dashboard and Operations Center.
      • Enables Connected Support 

  • Wireless Data Transfer (WDT) + JDLink Connect
    • Hardware: 4200 or 4600 CommandCenter or 4240 or 4640 Universal Display or GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display and MTG, and Ethernet cable
    • Subscriptions/activations: JDLink Connect
    • Data types: setup, documentation, prescriptions, and machine data
    • Functionality:
      • Setup data may be sent from Operations Center to the display.
      • User must select Manually export data to Operations Center in display when completed with a field to send documentation data to Operations Center.
      • Machine data is automatically sent from the machine to JDLink Dashboard and Operations Center.

  • 4640 Universal Display with Data Sync
    • Hardware: 4640 Universal Display and personal hotspot
    • Subscriptions/activations: Generation 4 Premium or higher
    • Data types: Documentation data
    • Functionality:
      • Documentation data is sent automatically to Operations Center.  

  • 4240 Universal Display or 4200/4600 CommandCenter v2 with Data Sync
    • Hardware: 4240 Universal Display or 4200 or 4600 CommandCenter v2, wireless USB adapter, and personal hotspot
    • Subscriptions/activations: Generation 4 Premium or higher
    • Data types: Documentation data
    • Functionality:
      • Documentation data is sent automatically from the display to Operations Center.

Transfer data with MyTransfer app

  • MyTransfer™ app
    • Hardware: mobile device and one of the following:
      • Wireless USB (MDT)
      • For iOS® devices: SanDisk iXPAND flash drive
      • For Android™ devices: any USB with an on-the-go (OTG) cable
    • Software: MyTransfer app installed on a mobile device
    • Data types: setup, documentation, and prescription data (see display compatibility link below)
    • Functionality:
      • Data is sent from the display to USB or MDT, then transferred to the MyTransfer app. The app then wirelessly transfers data to Operations Center.
      • NOTE: The wireless USB device is not automatic, therefore, it is not a one-for-one replacement for JDLink Connect.

Transfer data manually

  • Data moved manually
    • Hardware: USB or GreenStar display data cards
    • Data types: setup, documentation, and prescription data (see display compatibility link below)
    • Functionality:
      • Data from USB or data card may be zipped and uploaded to the Files tool in Operations Center.
      • Documentation data and John Deere setup data from USB or data card may be uploaded using John Deere Data Manager (download to desktop available in Operations Center) to the Files tool.
    • NOTE: Compatible zipped files may be uploaded to Files tool from a computer.
    • NOTE: Harvest ID Cotton files may be uploaded with the latest version of Data Manager. An active boundary must be present in the field prior to viewing Harvest ID Cotton data in Field Analyzer or Field Analyzer Beta.

  • APEX™ backup utility
    • Software: most recent version of APEX
    • Data types: Documentation data from GreenStar displays
    • Functionality:
      • Upload historical data from APEX farm management software to Operations Center, a more viable and versatile solution.
      • NOTE: While there is no limit on data transferred in this tool, it is recommended only for transferring historical data known to be accurate.

  • Connected software tools
    • Data transfer type: API
    • Data types: compatible setup, prescriptions, documentation, and imagery data (see Connected Software tools link below)
    • Functionality:
      • Automatically transfers compatible data from a software system to Operations Center.
    • Value: Users have more options for the software used while still keeping the Operations Center as their master source of data.
