ProDrive provides operators with superior control of the combine ground drive through the CommandTouch™ armrest console. Within each of the two modes, the operator can dial in the desired maximum-attainable speed using the navigation tools on the armrest console. The maximum forward speed in both ranges is 23 mph.

For example, if a maximum harvest speed of 8 mph is desired and set, the full forward position of the hydrostatic control handle will deliver a speed of 8 mph.

This feature provides the operator more precise and comfortable control of the combine ground speed throughout the travel range of the control handle. The adjustability of the range of speed can also make maneuvering the combine in close quarters and connecting header equipment much easier.

The ProDrive transmission available on 9770 STS™ and 9870 STS Combines also features upgraded, four-pinion differentials. The 9870 STS Combine ProDrive transmission contains an electrohydraulic differential lock. (Non-ProDrive STS Combines have two-pinion differentials.)

When operating in muddy or steep terrain conditions that may cause one of the tires to lose traction, this feature will enable operators to maintain productivity.  If traction is lost, operators can quickly and easily engage the differential lock by pressing the "Diff. Lock" switch on the CommandTouch armrest console.  An indicator light beside the switch will alert the operator that the differential locking feature is engaged. (Differential lock is not available on the 9770 STS with ProDrive.)

This feature eliminates the need for operators to control drive wheel slip manually with the independent brake pedals. When turning, the differential lock disengages automatically if one of the brakes is applied or if the operator presses the switch to disengage the differential lock.
