The electronically controlled reverser engagement prevents the operator from engaging the reverser before the header and feederhouse come to a complete stop. Engine rpm is automatically reduced to idle speed when the reverser is engaged to provide maximum torque from the reverser gearbox.
On combines equipped with the CommandTouch multi-speed feederhouse drive, reverser engagement will automatically shift the drive transmission to first gear, providing maximum torque from the reverser gearbox.
For the Posi-Torq™ variable-speed drive feederhouse, four types of reversers are available:
Regular-duty reverser (base equipment on 9570 STS™ Grain, 9670 STS, and 9770 STS Grain and Rice)
