4930 Sprayer with New Leader dry spinner spreader

NOTE: L3220G4 and L3030G4 are not compatible with the 4920 Sprayers.

Available with the John Deere 4930 Sprayer is the New Leader L3020G4 Dry Spinner Spreader. Designed specifically for the 4930 Sprayer, the operator can look from the operator's seat back into the box to see how much product has been spread. The length of the box was also designed around the 4930 Sprayer to ensure proper ballast.

In as little as four hours, the operator can convert from liquid to dry application for true multi-season use. The L3020G4 Dry Spinner Spreader can cover more acres (as much as 50 percent more) than other spinners or 70-ft air boom spreaders.

Applicators using the L3020G4 Dry Spinner Spreader in the past have effectively spread dry fertilizer up to 105 ft and ag lime up to 60 ft. For fertilizer application, the L3020G4 uses only 32 hp, compared to as much as 85 hp used by air booms. Therefore, the L3020G4 allows extra horsepower to help climb the big hills.

The spinner height on the 4930 is 68 in. versus 42 in. on a floater. This added height allows a greater trajectory at a lower spinner speed.

A rule of thumb for a 70-ft spread on a floater is 700 rpm spinner spread; on a 4930 Sprayer, the same 700 rpm can increase the spread width by as much as 15 ft. Added spread width increases the amount of acres per day and decreases the number of passes, which also reduces fuel costs and compaction.

NOTE: Fertilizer density differs and a pan test is the only way to measure the true spread width for that product.

New Leader L3020G4

Combining the John Deere 4930 Sprayer and the New Leader L3020G4 Dry Spin Spreader, operators have the ability to maintain spread widths even when rpms are reduced.

John Deere's pressure- and flow-compensated hydraulics allow operators to maintain spinner speed throughout each pass. By maintaining the spread width, operators can consistently place product throughout the fields and prevent bottlenecking of product at row end. The 200-cu ft struck (usually 7-ton dry fertilizer and about 10-ton ag lime) capacity allows for more time spreading and less time filling.

The dual strut design offers an outstanding ride in all conditions and increased load-carrying capacity to keep the 4930 Sprayer running smoothly all day long. Combined with the AutoTrac™ assisted steering system, operator fatigue is dramatically reduced and overlap is kept to a minimum.

By keeping a full spread pattern and reducing overlap, the John Deere 4930 Sprayer will be the operator's most valuable resource for years to come.
  • Low-maintenance design
  • Pressure- and flow-compensated hydraulics
  • 68-in. spinner height
  • Low 10-ft, 8-in. load height
  • Dual strut and air bag suspension
  • 304 stainless steel for corrosion resistance
  • Inverted V reduces conveyor load
  • 30-in. conveyor reduces material bridging
  • Belt-over-chain conveyor
NOTES:
1. N301437 is the installation instructions included with BN202483 and BN202484 and is highly recommended for information on lifting and removal.
2. Lifting straps and clevises are not included.
3. Crane or hoist must have a rated lifting capacity of at least 10,000 lb to remove the liquid system.
4. AN208100 and the latest CCU software must be installed on all model year 2004 4920 Sprayers serial number 000101-001999 if the dry box installation occurs before the model year 2005 product improvement update.
5. BN202474 (code 9160) flotation fenders are also recommended for applications using 620/70R46 flotation tires—assuming row-crop fenders (code 7310) are present. Machines without row-crop fenders will need front fender supports and mounting hardware ordered through Parts.
4930 MultApplier

Available with the John Deere 4930 Sprayer is the New Leader L3220G4 Dry Spinner Spreader. Bin level sensors are available and can be used as a warning at an approximate fertilizer amount. The length of the box was also designed around the 4930 Sprayer to ensure proper ballast.

In as little as four hours, the operator can convert from liquid to dry application for true multi-season use. The MultApplier insert can also be installed in about four hours.

New Leader is a U.S.-registered trademark of Highway Equipment Company.

CodeBundleDescription
9720BN202455*Required components for installation of the dry box includes: all the hydraulic components, electrical connectors, brackets, mounting hardware, fittings, and lights required for installation. The spinner spreader will not be able to operate without this interface bundle.

Note:*No longer orderable. Discontinued.
9750BN202483Highly recommended to support the boom and solution module during storage—must be attached when the solution module and boom are not attached to the chassis. Includes the boom spreader bars to ensure the boom stays stable during removal and storage; does not include supports to keep the solution module off the ground during storage.

9755BN202484Highly recommended to lift the solution module and boom from the chassis, but does not have to be attached during storage. Includes the front, rear, and tank skid lifting bars. If multiple dry boxes are ordered, this bundle could be moved to each machine for each installation and removal.
