Fuel-saving viscous fan drive
 
The viscous drive fan significantly reduces parasitic power losses and saves fuel, thus reducing the cost of operation.
 
Redesigned ramp and spoiler surface area improvements on the fan increase airflow by 7% without requiring any increase in power from the engine.
 
The temperature of the air passing through the radiator regulates the variable viscous fan drive speed between 1000 and 2300 rpm when the engine is running at rated speed.
 
Operating with light to medium engine loads (at rated engine speed) in cool ambient temperatures, the viscous drive fan speed is about 1000-1400 rpm. This applies for road transport and medium-duty field work.
 
During heavy field work at low ambient temperatures, the slower-running viscous drive fan allows up to 4 additional usable horsepower for higher field performance compared to engines without viscous drive fan.
 
The highly efficient cooling system allows the viscous drive fan to rotate with reduced speed when ambient temperature is below 86° F at full engine load.
Collar fan design
 
Collar fan design provides enhanced cooling capacity, especially under extreme dusty conditions.


Warm air is prevented from circulating through the radiator if it should start to plug up.

Dry-type air cleaner with safety element and precleaner
 
Air cleaner is easy to access and can be removed without the use of tools.
 
Pre-cleans air:
  •      Spin tubes are evacuated by engine fan
  •      90% efficiency in removing moisture and dirt prior to entering the air filter
  •      Provides better filtering in moist conditions


30% smaller than standard filters with same filtering capacity.


Filter restriction indicator light alerts operator when service is required.

Maintenance-free poly-V serpentine belt
 
The highly efficient poly-V serpentine belt increases power transfer to auxiliary components such as the alternator.  The belt is designed for long life, which results in lower maintenance expense and, since it has an automatic tensioning device, it is easy to change and maintain the proper contact.
