The three-bar coil-tine harrow with flat-bar rolling basket is a finishing attachment offered for the 2330 Mulch Finisher. This harrow provides producers with a solution for high-residue conditions that helps break up clods and prepare the seedbed.

Seedbed preparation

As part of John Deere’s ProFinish™ Leveling System, this harrow configuration utilizes coil-tines and hydraulically adjustable rolling baskets to help prepare the seed zone and to promote excellent seed-to-soil contact. The coil-tines work to level the mulch finisher shank troughs while the flat-bar rolling baskets help break up clods to create a more uniform seedbed and can perform well in wet soil conditions.

The hydraulically adjustable rolling basket helps distribute larger soil particles on the surface and finer soil particles in the seed zone to promote excellent seed-to-soil contact. Yields can benefit when there is good soil adherence at germination for moisture and nutrient uptake, promoting early seedling growth. Soil particle size distribution also helps to deal with spring rains.

Adjustability

Coil-tine angle and down pressure can be independently adjusted for greater customization to help ensure level performance across the field, even in low spots. Easy-to-use pins can be changed without the use of tools. There are three settings for down pressure and five angle adjustments ranging from 36 to 75 degrees to provide operators with flexibility to respond to changing field conditions.

Rolling baskets can be hydraulically adjusted from the cab with settings for raise, lower, and float.

With integrated TruSet™ Tillage technology, operators can adjust the rolling-basket down pressure from the cab while on the go. The tillage documentation feature gives producers the ability to capture and analyze their field cultivator passes for complete coverage of the crop production cycle. Added prescription functionality gives producers the capability to ensure their tillage operations are executed correctly, optimizing their investment in preparing for the next crop.
