The six-bar design with 19-mm x 19-mm x 305-mm (0.75-in. x 0.75-in. x 12-in.) spikes positioned every 267 mm (10.5 in.) on each bar and an effective 44-mm (1.75-in.) spacing provides excellent clod reduction in heavy soils.

Seedbed preparation

The flexible-link design and independently mounted ranks allow the harrow to move into the soil and through residue without plugging. By moving the soil and chemicals laterally in the soil, the spike-tooth harrow removes chemical skips and minimizes weed streaks to prepare the seedbed and help ensure each seed gets the best opportunity for even emergence and a uniform stand.

An anti-tangle system is built into the outer wings on all five-section mulch finishers. This integrated feature helps prevent the spikes from catching and saves operators time when folding and unfolding. The anti-tangle system enables lateral movement of 102 mm (4 in.) to the left and 102 mm (4 in.) to the right.

Adjustability

Spike-tooth harrow adjustment

The harrow angle can be adjusted from 23 to 51 degrees. The aggressive settings enable better leveling and more shattering in heavier soils while the shallower settings can be used in lighter soils, requiring minimum soil stirring and leveling.
